Hackensack University Medical Center, Center for Dentistry (PDF, 372 KB)
The Center for Dentistry at the Hackensack University Medical Center is located in Hackensack, New Jersey. The center participates in the Give Kids a Smile program as well as in Oral Cancer Awareness Month. Routine services include emergency care, screenings, cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, x-rays, fillings, extractions, scaling, crowns, bridges, dentures, root canals, oral surgery, orthodontics, referrals, and patient education. The clinic offers discounted services and accepts individuals without insurance and low-income individuals of all ages, regardless of specialized needs.

The Harris Health System Health Care for the Homeless Program provides dental care and other preventive and primary health care services to homeless individuals in Houston, Texas. This program operates multiple shelter-based clinics and mobile units to improve the health of the homeless population in Houston and engage them in health promotion and prevention activities.

Health Care for the Homeless, established in 1985, is a community-based clinic with multiple locations throughout Maryland that provide comprehensive dental, medical, and behavioral health services to homeless individuals. The program’s dental services include screenings, fluoride treatments, sealants, fillings, extractions, dentures, crowns, bridges, oral surgery, root canals, referrals, and patient and caregiver education. The clinic accepts children and adults and was the first comprehensive dental program in Maryland to target homeless populations.

Healthy Seniors Dental/Nursing Home Dental Care (PDF, 326 KB)
Nursing Home Dental Care, established in 1997 and also referred to as Healthy Seniors Dental, operates in Florida, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. The program began as a collaboration between dentists and residential care facilities as a way to improve the oral health of older adults and long term care residents. Services include emergency, basic, and comprehensive care, including dentures.

Hillcrest Dental Care, Inc. (PDF, 366 KB)
Hillcrest Dental Care, Inc., established in 1985, is located in Pittsfield and North Adams, Massachusetts. Services include screenings, cleanings, sealants, x-rays, fillings, extractions, crowns, dentures, scaling, root canals, and oral surgery. The clinic accepts adults and children and focuses on treating low-income individuals as well as on Medicaid beneficiaries and individuals with special needs. Hillcrest Dental Care is the largest dental provider in the Berkshires for low-income individuals, Medicaid beneficiaries, and those with special needs. To accommodate the needs of its clients, the clinic accepts all insurance plans and offers no-interest payment plans.

HIV Alliance Dental Case Management (PDF, 368 KB)
The HIV Alliance, established in 1985, offers assistance with dental services provided to HIV positive clients through the partnership between HIV Alliance and Lane Community College Dental Clinic in Eugene, Oregon with satellite clinics in Medford, Oregon. Services include emergency care, cleanings, fillings, extractions, dentures, bridges, crowns, root canals, care coordination, and referrals. The HIV Alliance targets low-income individuals living with HIV who are underinsured or who lack insurance. If eligible, individuals can receive travel assistance and benefit from dental case management services to ensure proper appointment scheduling and treatment plans.

Holland Free Clinic (PDF, 331 KB)
The Holland Free Health Clinic, established in 2002, is located in Holland, Michigan. The clinic operates the first free dental clinic in the county. Services, provided by volunteer staff at the clinic or in private dental offices, include cleanings, fillings, extractions, scaling, oral surgery, referrals, and patient and caregiver education. The clinic targets low-income populations, individuals without insurance, Medicaid and Healthy Michigan enrollees, homeless individuals, and individuals with disabilities.

The New Jersey Dental Association operates the Homebound Program with the aim of improving access to dental care. The program connects homebound individuals and caregivers with local dentists who conduct house calls.

Hygienist Recommended (PDF, 366 KB)
Hygienist Recommended is a nonprofit organization located in Oakland County, Michigan. The organization offers mobile dental services all over Michigan to treat individuals in settings such as private residences, residential facilities, and schools. Services include oral screenings and dental exams, teeth cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, x-rays, fillings, extractions, denture care, referrals, and patient and caregiver education. The program treats individuals of all ages, as well as those with special needs or disabilities.
